SBI to hold virtual annual general meeting on Jun 17

Mumbai. The country's largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) will hold its annual general meeting on 17 June through video conference. The bank said on Wednesday that it has taken this decision in view of the Kovid-19 crisis. In April, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had allowed companies to hold their annual general meeting via video conference.

SBI said in the release that the decision has been taken following the request of various stakeholders. The meeting will begin on June 17 at 3 pm. The bank has said, "Shareholders will be allowed an e-vote to elect four directors." These directors will be selected from the list of five candidates. This process will be done under SBI Act and SBI General Regulations 1955. "

The bank has said that it has been avoiding physical presence of people in major programs for the last few months keeping in view the restrictions imposed under the betterment and lockdown of all parties.
