New Delhi. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has exported more than 5,000 vehicles this month. The company's Chennai factory resumed production on May 8. HMIL said in a statement that the company is committed to the government's 'Make in India' program. Accordingly, in May, the company has exported more than 5,000 vehicles.

HMIL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SS Kim said, 'We have once again started normalizing things in a calm manner. In May, we have exported more than 5,000 vehicles. The company started exporting vehicles from India in 1999.

Kim said that the company has so far exported more than 3 million vehicles from India to 88 countries on four continents. In the previous calendar year, the company exported 1,81,200 vehicles. HMIL said that its share of total vehicle exports from the country was 26 percent in 2019. The company currently exports 10 models from the country including Venue and Creta.
